COMPLETED.

That was the “Say Something Stage.” Turns out it went really well. I can’t say better than expected, because I expected it to turn out exactly like it did. I only wish now I had a better plan to proceed. The Intentional Stage and all that needs to be next, but being me, I tend to think a lot and I don’t want to be a nuisance, you know? Sigh, where’s the win in this? I know what I want… Why can’t it be that easy? Or is it?

COMEPLETED!

You all will have no idea what I’m talking about to be sure… but I’m transitioning into the next stage of my life. I’ve completed Stage 2 at this point… before I’ve even completed Stage 1. We had a great time at LifePoint’s Christmas parties, which were both awesome. Saw some jugglers and cool tricks this past week at the Next Gen volunteer party, and then again at the staff party we had a great time playing white elephant and eating some grub/deserts. Jolly!

Anyway. Mental note of this stage. Swish. Count it.

So for a school project in my TV Production class, we had to take a topic and make an instructional video on it. Me, Philip Elliott, and Riley Vasquez chose shot composition and made this joke-filled video. Weighing in right at 10:30, it’s a quick watch that will make your movies look awesome. If you don’t care about knowing anything about our professor, skip to the 4:00 mark!

Take a look, and see what I’m doing in school this semester.

I wrote a paper in my Woody Allen film studies class, and I figured I’d share it with you all. If you’d be willing to read it, have a look, and maybe think about things, because they’re WAY interesting.

If you haven’t finished Match Point yet (and I can think of at least one person in particular!), don’t download and read this. Otherwise… enjoy!

Imagine a cute, little puppy dog. Imagine it running around the living room, or maybe out in the backyard… how the fur moves and the saliva drips from their mouth sometimes. Imagine how real that dog is. Think about it running and jumping over the fence in the yard. That’s real, right?

Now imagine if monsters were that real! Imagine that same realness you just perceived of the puppy dog and imagine all that on a hairy monster jumping over your backyard’s fence and running across your yard. Wouldn’t that just be the scariest thing in the world? I’m so glad monsters aren’t real.

If this doesn’t make sense, excuse my late-night

I told myself a long time ago that I wouldn’t blog about girls. Why? Because what if it didn’t work out? What if I got too mushy and ooey gooey (heaven forbid) and no one wanted to read this blog anymore? And before you laugh about that last thought, I know at least 10 people read this blog daily, and I don’t know who they are or where they’re from of if they exit out of it before reading anything, but my Google Analytics doesn’t lie.

Anyway. So, I’m not going to blog about a girl. What I will tell you all about is free pizza. I have a friend named Matt Ford. He’s the jam. He usually is the one who provides some Hot N Readys (Readies?) for when we hang, but I totally showed him up last night. That’s right, I brought the pizza. Granted, me and him were the only ones that ate it, there wasn’t enough for everyone, but I have cemented a place in his Hall of Fame because I got the hook up.

The pizza itself came from the manager of a local Little Caesar’s. She’s really cool. She is a small group leader at the church I work at for a great group of 6th grade girls. We pretty much have known each other for years and didn’t really talk much or were friends at all, so it’s really nice to have new friends like her around. We were talking just the other day about how she’s manager at this franchise that just opened and how she never gets a night off, so I thought I’d grace her with my presence. And that’s how she convinced me to get the pizza. It was pepperoni and it was delicious.

The poetry part? I was reading and Amber asked me what it was. I told her it was one of my favorite poets. She never asked who that was though… just said something like, “Oh, you’ll have to share with me sometime.” Which I will, but his name is Charles Bukowski. I don’t know if she meant share my poems or what my favorite were? I don’t think she knew that I wrote poetry, so it couldn’t've been mine. Anyway, I thought I could branch out a bit and go out on a limb and post one of my poems. If you don’t like it, don’t tell me you hate it, just tell me to take it down–I can’t bear the rejection. Enjoy!

“draw stars”

i’ve found what life is like when you’re winning
first kisses and a secret love
with late nights and complications
skipping home and beaming loudly

figuring it out
it’s
clear december nights without a care in the world
and i can draw stars!

Happy thanksgiving everyone! I hope you’re enjoying the food and fellowship with friends and family as much as I am! It’s always nice to be able to spend a few days at home with my beautiful family and not have to worry about work and school. I love my mom’s cooking, too! Oh man, I love this holiday. It’s always good, I feel like, to take time though and contemplate what you’re truly thankful for.

What if we didn’t take anything for granted? Not a breath, laugh, sunrise, meal, spouse, or Savior? We’ve been given so much… Think about everything every day that you come in contact with and think about and use and touch and deal with… what do you look over every day and don’t even think about (“Thank” about)?

Here’s me:

  • My friends, who are so endearing
  • My family, who are awesome!
  • My job, which I love
  • My car, Washington, whom is sexy
  • My Chinese sisters, Lydia (5) and Izzy (9)
  • My school and major, because I’m good at it
  • My bosses, who help grow me
  • My supporters, I like having fans
  • Those who love me, because we can never have too little of those people
  • Food of all kinds, McDoubles for $1, Taco Bell’s 79/89/99c menu, mom’s Macaroni!
  • My apartment, because as far as college living goes, it’s amazing
  • My quilt that I’ve had since I was a child
  • My professors, because they pass me
  • Movies, oh yes, movies… My lifeblood
  • Music! Who can’t live without music!
  • Poetry!
  • Love!
  • Technology… so useful and great for curing boredom
  • Happiness
  • Pretty words
  • Nicknames
  • Adidas
  • Space
  • Blankets
  • Remotes
  • Opportunities to serve people
  • Library work!
  • Legal pads, Pilot V5 Precise Extra Fine pens
  • …and above all, Jesus Christ’s grace for me and everyone else.
